And then I just realised, there's Operation Mindcrime, but since I don't quite know that album well, can't see if you were inspired to use the term mindcrime from it. Very powerfull stuff. Good to read! How long did it take for you to write it, and how long was it sloshing about in your head?
It's not an analogy, just a story. No influences except a fairly obvious nod to William S. Burroughs. I first wrote a draft of this story when I was living in that paying guest place in Taverekere with Kevin, the 16 year-old guitarist from Imphal.
